Catena Zapata Argentine Malbec Red Wine, 750 ml

The Catena Zapata Malbec Argentino Catena has a deep and intense violet color. Its aroma refers to cassis, mocha, cloves and marked earthy notes.
In the mouth it combines density and sweetness with attractive mineral hints, soft notes of tobacco, black fruits and spices. The finish is long and persistent, with flavors of sweet black fruits.
The label of Catena Zapata Malbec Argentino pays tribute to the history of the variety in France and its subsequent rise in Argentina. The four female figures represent the different milestones in the history of this variety.
The first woman, who symbolizes the birth of Malbec, is Eleanor of Aquitaine, “a strong presence of the Old World”, represented next to the Cahors bridge, where Malbec originated.
The second woman, an immigrant, symbolizes the settlers who migrated to the New World and the unknown explorers and adventurers who connected Europe to America.
Phylloxera represents the death of Malbec in the Old World and its subsequent rebirth in America. Finally, there is Doña Zapata, symbolized by Adrianna Catena, who represents birth, land and motherhood, sharing the riches of the New World.
Today, the fourth generation of the Catena family leads the renaissance of Malbec in the high altitude vineyards of Argentina. We are returning Malbec to heaven, where it belongs.
